Boiler Repair or Installation
Having a new boiler installed is never an easy task. Luckily there is A/E Power/Plumbing here to assist you in any questions you may have. Before we determine if an old boiler needs to be replaced there are intensive inspection done on the entire system. The reasons for this is because there are many causes for a boiler to stop heating:
Water Boiler
- Ensure all radiators are bled of any air in system
- Ensure all radiator valves are in the full open position
- Ensure thermostat is operating properly
- Ensure vent damper is opening (if applicable)
- Ensure circulating pump is operating properly
- Ensure FB-38 water feeder is feeding water when needed
- Ensure expansion / extrol tank is not filled with water
- Ensure all safety limits and switches are working
- Ensure gas valve is receiving voltage and opening
- Ensure system has proper ventilation for all flue gases
- Inspect exterior of boiler for signs of overheating or flame rollout
- Inspect boiler sections for any signs of leaking, rust or corrosion
Steam Boilers
- Ensure thermostat is operating properly
- Ensure vent damper is opening (if applicable)
- Ensure all radiators are pitched properly
- Ensure radiator valves are fully open
- Ensure radiator steam vents are clean and properly sized
- Ensure steam pipes are properly pitched
- Ensure low water cut-off is operating
- Ensure feeder is operating properly when needed
- Ensure all safety limits and switches are working
- Ensure gas valve is receiving voltage and opening
- Ensure system has proper ventilation for all flue gases
- Inspect exterior of boiler for signs of overheating or flame rollout
- Inspect boiler sections by telescopic camera for any signs of leaking, rust or corrosion
